What is MicroPur? Explanations and Information!

MicroPur is above all a brand, but it is above all small lozenges or tablets, which purify water. In other words, MicroPur allows you to make just about any unsafe and undrinkable water safe to drink at almost any time. They disinfect the water, eliminating bacteria, viruses and any other dirt it may contain.

Operation, How it works:

To use micropur tablets it’s very simple, all you have to do is fill a container with water, and put one or more tablets in it. We leave it to act, then the tablet takes effect. It disinfects water, removes bacteria and other microbes.

Dosage and wait:

For the dosage it will then be necessary to put 1 tablet for a liter of water. Remember not to overdose and to be careful. Because it could be dangerous. Count for micropure, 30 minutes waiting for the water to be well cleaned for the strong, and 2 hours for the classic blue.

Choice between Forte or Classic:

Or find two kinds of Micro Pure, namely the strong (red) and the classic (blue). The strong one, as you will have understood, is much more effective, since this one in addition to destroying bacteria and others, will also be effective against viruses and so on. Note that on the other hand, it clearly reduces minerals and other contributions.

As you will have seen, there are several kinds, strong or classic, but especially tablets or liquid. And honestly, as far as the shape is concerned, it doesn’t change anything, it’s up to you to see what you prefer. In the form of medicine, in the bag it wears out, and we sometimes find it everywhere, but it’s smaller and lighter! In terms of quality and efficiency, I always take the red one to be safe, but the blue one, depending on the location and travel, does the job very well!

Where to find and order MicroPur?

To buy micropur you have three solutions! Namely, quite simply on the Internet, or in a store dedicated to sport or travel, and finally quite simply in Pharmacy !

The first time I went to the pharmacy because I had other medications to take, but now I order on the Internet. It’s up to you to see what you prefer.

Buy online :

On the internet there are many sites that sell them. Personally, I prefer to head towards Amazon, and in particular towards the Brand Katadyn, which I recommend. I take the red micropur forte, even if the blue ones do the trick in some cases. You are delivered to your home, no need to run everywhere, and clearly, they are exactly the same purifying tablets!

Buy in Pharmacy:

Normally any pharmacy should be able to sell you MicroPur. Or an equivalent. Note that some may not have stock, however, this sometimes happens. But generally, you can buy them in all pharmacies.

Buy in store:

Most major sports stores like InterSport Or Decathlon, we have micropur or an alternative on the shelves, especially in the aisles dedicated to hiking. But you will also find them in stores like Le Vieux Campeur, or Nature et Découverte, which are a little more targeted. You will also find them in certain supermarkets (Casino, Leclerc, Auchan etc.) but here on the other hand, it’s really not all the time!

Alternatives to MicroPur

Because there are similar water purification solutions. And even if micro pure is the best known, there are other alternatives similar to these tablets in tablet form. You never know, whether you have a grudge against this brand for example, or whether you prefer to try something else.

I have provided you below with a small summary table, with some alternative products. Actually 3, but I think there are many more. Especially in pharmacies, or specialized stores, there I bought on the internet, finally on Amazon, because that’s where there is the most choice. The principle is therefore the same for all these alternatives to micropur, purifying the water, sanitizing it, making it drinkable and eliminating viruses and bacteria, etc.

Note that all of these alternative solutions, but also micropur, can also be used in daily life, particularly for tap water at home for example, or to disinfect baby bottles, carafes and your water bottles.

Note that for those who travel in a van, camper van, or converted truck for example, camping and road trip enthusiasts, this is a good solution for purifying the water in your containers (cans for dishes, shower etc.) especially if you have children!

When to use Micropur and why?

We will use Micropur when traveling, hiking, camping, trekking and any other situation where we have access to water, a container (gourd, bottle etc.) and especially where the water is not clean, and that we therefore want to clean it up.

Personally, when I go on a trip, I always at least one plate in my backpack. And besides, I only use it when I go traveling, even if ultimately, I could use it at home. But the tap water is good where I live so no need to purify it.

Purification frequency: Danger?

On the other hand, you must keep in mind that using micropur every day, in all the water you can drink, is not highly recommended either, in the sense that, as said above, it also eliminates minerals and other contributions that water may contain..! So use it sparingly. Afterwards, if you go on a trip for 15 days, honestly you don’t mind, you put it on every day, I’m especially talking about those who go for months and months! Prefer natural purification, for example by boiling the water.

Tips and Tricks:

As I said, I always have a tablet of these tablets in my bag. Personally, when traveling, I put a tablet in the evening in a large bottle of water, so that I have water all day the next day. Although generally, I always have my filter bottle, so I don’t add any. But I rarely travel alone and since I don’t share my water bottle, well you understand what…! ^^ So, don’t wait until you’re thirsty or no longer have water to put it in, because it takes at least 30 minutes before the micro pure is fully effective in your water!

My Opinion on MicroPur to purify water!

If you read me often, you know that I am more of a fan of water filters such as bottles or pockets. But as I told you during this article, I still always take micropure tablets with me when traveling, at least one tablet.

Unlike bottled water, it does not have an immediate effect, which is often what poses a problem for me, but the advantage of micro pur is that we are sure of the result and the quality of the product. water.

Although its composition is surely more harmful and dangerous for the body (hence my reduced advice for use), with this you can be sure that the water is drinkable! Finally, if we base ourselves on the average purchase price, it is clearly cheaper in certain countries to use micropur than to buy plastic bottles, once again, an economic and ecological advantage!
