Moving to Brazil – Villa Isola Bella

This article is brought to us by Laurence.

It’s 5:30 p.m., I’m on the sand, a Caipirinha (the local cocktail made with cachaça, lemon, sugar and crushed ice) in hand, feet in the sand watching the sun go down and there, I tell me, it’s obvious: “This is where I want to be, this is what I want to see every day!!”

Not 2 days, not a week, not 3 months but this is where I want to live, where I want to pack my bags, under the Brazilian sun.

And there it all begins…..

Things happen very quickly, I spot a small fishing village in the Brazilian Northeast, on the beach of course, 28° on average all year round, sunshine 350 days a year, PARADISE. Land is available there (at an affordable price)

I contact an agency on the internet which takes care of everything, they find the land, carry out the transaction for me, I set up a company and they apply for my investor visa which I obtain very quickly after purchasing the land. (here all the information on the different visas. That’s it, I am the owner!!

For my part, I am leaving a fascinating job (but also very stressful), I work for a perfume designer, I travel, I have responsibilities, I meet a lot of people but it no longer suits me….need to do things for me and as I see fit!!

And here I am ready for my new life, it’s decided, I’m opening a small hotel/guest house on the beach at Brazil! I want to receive as at home, supporting clients in organizing their trip to Brazil, and more particularly in this magnificent Nordeste with its deserted beaches.

And now?

Well, I have land, I have my visa, I speak (well a little) Portuguese but still no hotel!!

Today, I am working on the plans, refining the quotes, looking for new builders….

All this takes a lot of time, it’s difficult in France to manage all this, I won’t even tell you about it abroad.

Fortunately, my various trips to Brazil allowed me to meet people, my family and my friends support me 100% (okay, they also aim for vacations!!!) and all that makes things easier.

Today I’m going back and forth between France and Brazil and I think I’m not at the end of my surprises with the work….but I’m not worried, “it will do it”.

I hope to be able to open in 2024 and help you discover my corner of paradise, serving as a guide to this region full of surprises.

In the meantime, I will help you discover the region, the customs, the culture of this beautiful country with wonderful colors.
